Big (12) - 5th July

5th July       Big (12)

A 1980’s Tom Hanks classic, Big follows the fortunes of Josh Baskin (Hanks) who gets what he wished for when the 12 year-old wakes up to find he has become a 30 year-old-man. Having returned to the wishing machine to try and reverse his wish, Josh discovers the machine has gone and he has to face life as an adult.

Josh braves the big city and lands a job as a toy tester, with the famous scene of Hanks playing ‘Chopsticks’ on a foot operated electronic keyboard. He experiences a life of employment, success and women and for a while, prefers his new life. But before long, the pressure becomes too much and he realises he’s not ready for life as an adult. With the wishing machine back at the park, Josh gets his chance to become a kid again, leaving his new life behind.

A refreshingly sweet and undeniable funny film, Big is destined to be a crowd pleaser.
