A HOMAGE TO HISTORY

An exhibition of extraordinary technology, we were proud to display Bugatti‘s exclusive edition “Les Légendes du Ciel” from 3 – 29 June at Spinningfields Square.

A tribute to a golden era of exceptional pilots and race car drivers, including Louis Blériot, Roland Garros, Robert Benoist, Bartolomeo Costantini and Albert Divo, this hyper sports car was nothing short of spectacular.

From a wide, gloss white, runway-inspired centre stripe to air parade formation patterns in the seat stitching and a hand-sketched propeller logo, this stunning model, based on a Chiron Sport, was just 1 of 20 to be produced, with top speeds of 260mph and a W16 engine that delivers 1,500 PS and 1,600 Nm of torque!

The matte grey body mirrors the metallic exterior colour of the early 20th century planes, accessorised by a double wing front reminiscent of the Nieuport 17 biplane flown by so many pilots, and the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge French tricolor decorates the car’s exposed-carbon-fibre side sills, a reference to both Bugatti’s and the Daredevils’ origins. The car’s interior is entirely brown Gaucho leather, as fine and yet as robust as in the original Nieuport 17’s cockpit. In addition, the biplane and Bugatti’s earliest successful racing car, the Type 13, were commemorated in a hand-sketched scene on the door panels.
