Calling all ghostbusters! From dining in the dark to frightful fortunes, expect ghouls, goosebumps and goodies at Screamfields. Join us if you dare.
This Halloween, #MCRMonsters are back. Don’t miss 8 ghoulish creatures lurking around the city, including 25ft tentacles spookily sprouting up from Hardman Square! Designed by street artists Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrellas, these inflatables will also be available to view at Exchange Square, Great Northern. Manchester Arndale, Kampus, St. Ann’s Square, Cathedral Gardens and Printworks! The event is FREE and running from 25 – 31 October 2021.
In addition, don’t miss The Real Banksie, Narcissa Nightshade and Anna Phylactic on Hardman Square on 28 October (4 – 8pm), 29 October (4 – 9pm) and 30 October (4 – 9pm) for a FREE ghostly fortune reading inside their pop-up tent of terrors, located behind The Lawn Club. Plus, at the end of the reading you’ll have the option to pick at random and keep a beautifully illustrated card that denotes your spirit animal!
For little monsters, there’s also an opportunity to join a live bake-along led by Hey Little Cupcake at 11am on 30 October. Streamed on Facebook and Instagram, follow the instructions using your pre-purchased ingredients kit and magic up a wickedly scrumptious Tomb Loaf Cake – no spells required! Plus, discover a wide range of tempting treats available to purchase in-store from 15 October including spider cookies, pumpkin cake pops and more!
As the witching hour prepares to strike, The Ivy Spinningfields will bring the spirit of Mexico to the heart of Manchester with their South American inspired floral installations and exclusive cocktail menu, created in collaboration with Patron Tequila, available exclusively on 30 October from 7pm, with surprise performances from stilt walkers, musicians and dancers.
For an alternative experience that promises to be nothing short of spectacular, enjoy a sky-high candelit dinner with a seat under the stars at 20 Stories‘ annual 4-course Blackout Dinner on 31 October or boogie on over to BLVD’s monster mash celebrations, complete with cauldron cocktails, immersive entertainment, DJ sets and sharing platters.
Finally, stop by Marks & Spencer and stock up on a spellbinding selection of treats (not tricks). From a haunted house light-up biscuit tin to a 3 courses for £10 squeal deal your fright night celebrations just got scarily good! Or, for the more adventurous, why not craft your very own mini meringue ghosts or mulled midnight magic cocktails with Co-op‘s recipe guide, with all ingredients available to purchase in-store or online with 2 hour delivery and collection slots to choose from.
