Spinningfields’ Summer Screenings return for 2019

From 10 June – 16 July 2019, Spinningfields’ summer cinema will return for five weeks of al fresco film screenings. Situated in The Oast House’s beautiful new courtyard, the free programme will feature a variety of timeless classics and new releases, in what promises to be a magical summer evening series.

From the romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet (1997) to the musical smash-hit The Greatest Showman (2018), the Spinningfields’ Summer Screenings are the perfect opportunity to watch all your favourite films under the stars.

Plus, new for 2019 are three live Royal Opera House screenings of Kenneth Macmillan’s ballet Romeo and Juliet, Georges Bizet’s opera Carmen and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera The Marriage of Figaro. Simply bring a blanket, grab a deck chair, and settle in for a cinematic experience like no other.

With an open-air viewing area that can host up to 350 people, be sure to arrive early as screenings start promptly at 7pm. No tickets are necessary, simply turn up. Food and drink can be ordered from The Oast House at the bar, or for delivery to your seat, order via the QKR smartphone app, available to download from the App Store or Google Play. Choose from an impressive list of ales and wines as well as signature hanging kebabs, burgers from the grill, deli boards and fondues.

In addition, popcorn will be able to purchase for £2 – with £1 from every purchase being donated by The Oast House to Dogs4Rescue – a ‘Not for Profit’ organisation which fosters street dogs in need from abroad.

Please note that in the event of bad weather, the screening will be cancelled. Follow @Spinningfields on Twitter for regular updates.
