Welcome to Screamfields

Spinningfields made a spellbinding transformation into ‘Screamfields’ this Halloween, illuminated by moonlight, jack-o’-lanterns and glowing neon…

From pumpkins and crows hiding in the trees to two electrifying light installations, ‘Boo!’ and ‘Trick or Treat’, shining across Hardman Square and the Quay Street facade of No.1 Spinningfields, those who ventured into Spinningfields during October were in for a fright.

Visitors also risked being scooped up by four gigantic 15m tentacles sprouting from The Lawn, forming part of Halloween in the City’s much-loved inflatable monster trail, designed by street artists Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrellas.

If passersby were brave enough to risk the tricks, they had the chance to experience a range of ghoulish treats and eerie events. These included Spinningfields’ Spooky Pooch Show at The Oast House, which invited dogs and owners to showcase their best costumes in exchange for ‘spook-tacular’ prizes, plus ‘Screaming Screenings’ at Tattu and The Refinery’s Gothic glamour party. There were also a selection of spellbinding Halloween offerings to enjoy, from concoctions of rum at The Alchemist to The Ivy’s limited-edition Melting Witches Hat.
