‘Host’ by Hilary Jack aims to promote the work of the Manchester Homelessness Charter, with each piece telling a hidden story behind our development as a city and a community.
Employment
By working together, the business community in the City Centre have made a number of training and work placement pledges to people experiencing homelessness. The Ready for Work programme, delivered by Business in the Community, provides the support and platform to offer real opportunities to people who want to rebuild confidence and grow skills.
Allied London & CityCo spearheaded the employment session which saw pledges from the Heart of Manchester BID, Kier, CBRE, BAM Construction and Wagamama to name a few.
Where offers of placements and training were not available, some businesses have pledged to help in other ways including CV writing skills and job club mentoring. The first sessions are taking place in January 2017.
